A Complete Landscape Delivered from First Grade to Final Planting

The West Tisbury estate represents the full breadth of what LandMasters delivers when a project permits no compromise. Every element of the outdoor environment — from the arrival experience at the circular drive to the pool surround visible from the rear lawn — was designed, installed, and finished by our team.

The property occupies a generous site in West Tisbury's wooded interior. The brief called for a landscape that felt refined without feeling formal — connecting the house to the land through materiality and composition rather than imposing geometry upon it.

The Scope of Work

The West Tisbury project was designed as a complete outdoor composition — not a collection of individual elements but a landscape that reads as a unified whole from every vantage point, whether arriving at the motor court, looking out from the rear rooms, or surveying the property from above.

The circular gravel motor court — centred on a planted island of juniper, boxwood, and a single ornamental standard tree — establishes the arrival character with a classical restraint that suits the shingled architecture. The crushed stone surface connects the arrival to the island's vernacular without sacrificing the refinement the residence warrants.

The rear landscape is defined by three interlocking elements: the bluestone pool surround, the ipe hardwood deck that bridges house to pool terrace, and the broad lawn that extends to the property edge. The stepping stone paths — large-format bluestone set in turf — move people through the landscape without interrupting the visual continuity of the lawn plane.
